HOME Grant Highlights
- $28,750 for down payment and/or closing costs
- Available only in DeSoto County
- Not just for first-time buyers
- New home must be principal residence
- Limited supply, only 16 grants available
- Home buyer must attend an 8-hour education course
- Available on a first-come, first-served basis
- Must have a minimum 620 credit score
- Must be able to qualify for a 30-yr fixed home loan
- Good for up to approximately $160,000 loan amount
- Good for a sales price up to approximately $188,750
- May be repaid pro-rate if there is a profit on sale within 10 years
- Household income must be below certain limits (see chart below)
- Chambliss Builders has homes that qualify (see list below)
